Dunbar 150: Celebrating Paul Laurence Dunbar & Sparking Community Involvement
This year is the 150th anniversary of the birth of poet and author Paul Laurence Dunbar. Our speaker Park Ranger Angela Stewart has been helping to coordinate the communities’ activities to mark this occasion. She will speak about Dunbar’s life and accomplishments when he was known as the “most promising young Colored man in America” and examine his influences in the civil rights movement in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.
